Looking to earn valuable and flexible points on your business payments? pay.com.au allows you to accrue PayRewards Points on your company spends. These rewards can be converted into points or miles with a growing number of transfer partners, including Qantas, Virgin Australia, Cathay Pacific, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, United Airlines, and more.
But how can you make the most of PayRewards, and earn the highest number of points to get you flying faster? The simple answer is that the more you transact, the greater the quantity of points you can earn. But there are some tips and tricks that can get you off to a flying start. Here’s how to maximise your PayRewards Points.
Double your PayRewards Points on every transaction
Every time you process a payment through pay.com.au, you can choose to earn PayRewards Points. As a baseline, you’ll pocket 1 PayRewards Point per dollar spent, for a processing fee of 1% + GST. But there’s a way to double your points haul on every transaction, without doubling the transaction fees.
Choose to earn 2 PayRewards Points per $1 spent, and the processing fee is only 1.8% + GST. This means you’re paying 0.9c (+ GST) for every PayRewards Point earned, rather than 1c (+ GST) as with the lower earning rate.
With twice as many points to spend, you can get yourself flying business class faster – and more often.
Use pay.com.au to its full potential
There are lots of ways to use pay.com.au to build a balance of points for your business. Many of our customers use our service to pay supplier bills: earning points on payments even where the supplier doesn’t accept credit card. (You pay us by bank transfer or credit card, we pay your supplier, you earn points – easy!) But that’s just the start.
How about your company payroll? Yes, staff salaries can be another payment on which you can amass points. Even better, those quarterly BAS payments to the ATO can be a juicy way to earn PayRewards Points.
Almost any payment your business needs to make can be another way to top-up your stash of PayRewards Points. Just check our list of prohibited payments for the exclusions. Don’t stress, there aren’t too many.
The power move: earn points by paying your credit card statements
You probably know that credit cards can be a powerful way to earn points for your business. But we’ll let you in on one of our favourite tricks. Through pay.com.au, you can earn points by paying off your credit card. That’s right – you could earn points first by spending on your card, at your bank’s usual rates. But that boring BPAY payment to clear the bill? You could earn points on that, too.
It works like this. You pay us via bank transfer, and we pay your bill – in this case, your credit card statement – by BPAY. In between, you earn PayRewards Points. This means your business could generate up to 2 PayRewards Points per $1 repaid onto your credit card account.
Don’t forget, you can also use credit cards to make many of your payments via pay.com.au. So, you could earn PayRewards Points on those outbound spends. Pocket credit card points in addition, in line with your card’s usual rates. And, earn PayRewards Points on top when you pay off that card. You’ll be rolling in points in no time! You might never need to fly economy again…
Those ABA files can also mean ‘Always Be Accruing’
Are you processing payment runs by uploading an ABA file into your bank’s online banking portal? Let’s change things up a little bit. You can upload ABA files into pay.com.au instead, and let us take care of the rest.
On these bulk payments, you can earn PayRewards Points – even if you fund the transaction from your bank account. With same-day processing now available via PayTo, your suppliers (and staff) will get paid just as fast. But you’ll earn points on a transaction that’d otherwise leave you unrewarded.
Chat with your bookkeepers as well, because you can integrate pay.com.au with Xero. This means you can automatically sync payments, transaction history and Pay.com.au’s invoices for those modest PayRewards fees. That keeps your focus on running your business, while the PayRewards Points practically earn themselves. With us, those ABA files are your key to Always Be Accruing… PayRewards Points, of course!
Earn bonus points by referring other businesses
Don’t keep the magic of PayRewards to yourself. Share the love and earn bonus PayRewards Points for every business you successfully refer.
Here’s the drill. You’ll get 10,000 bonus PayRewards Points every time you refer a business to pay.com.au and they transact $10,000 or more in their first month. It’s a win-win, because the business you refer will also fetch 10,000 bonus PayRewards Points at the same time.
But that’s not all. For every five successful referrals, you’ll get an extra 50,000 bonus PayRewards Points. That’s on top of the usual 10,000 bonus points you could earn per business.
What does a PayRewards Point get you, you ask? Well, you can convert PayRewards Points to Qantas Business Flyer and Virgin Australia Business Flyer at a 2:1 rate. That means, every business you refer could be your ticket to earning up to 5,000 frequent flyer points.
PayRewards has many other transfer partners as well. Convert to Air Canada Aeroplan and Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer at a 2.5:1 rate. Or to popular programs like The British Airways Club, Cathay (Asia Miles), Qatar Airways Privilege Club, United MileagePlus and more, at a 3:1 rate.
It’s very easy to earn large quantities of PayRewards Points for your business… so why haven’t you already started? Your next flight in business class could be just one large bill payment away!
