Getting started

How do I sign-up?

To get started, click here.
You’ll need to provide your email address, create a password, and enter your ABN and business details. Once your email and phone number are verified, you’ll be ready to make your first payment.

Who is eligible to use pay.com.au?

Any business with an ABN. Simply sign up, enter your ABN and a few general pieces of information; add your credit card to the digital wallet; add payee information and you are ready to go.

What does it cost to sign up?

No, signing up is completely free. You can start making payments straight away on a pay-as-you-go basis, with fees charged per transaction. If your business processes higher volumes or wants access to premium features, subscription plans are available that offer lower transaction rates and added benefits.

Do I need to be verified to join?

Yes, we require identity verification for both you and your business to comply with Australian financial regulations. This helps us keep the platform safe and secure for all users. Learn more.

What is Pay.com.au?

Pay.com.au is a payment platform that lets Australian businesses earn rewards on their everyday expenses. Including bills, supplier invoices, ATO payments, and more.

You can pay by credit card or bank transfer, even if your supplier doesn’t accept cards directly. Plus, you’ll earn PayRewards Points on every eligible transaction.

What cards work with pay.com.au?

We accept all major business credit cards – including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Personal cards may also work, but we recommend checking your card’s terms with your provider.

What are the benefits of using pay.com.au?

What fees should I expect?

pay.com.au charges a small processing fee on each payment. Fees vary depending on the payment method and whether you’re on a subscription plan. You can find detailed pricing on our website.

Who can I pay using pay.com.au?

You can pay almost any Australian business with a valid bank account. Some restricted industries and transaction types (such as gambling or mortgage repayments) are not supported. See more about prohibited payments

How easy is the platform to use?

pay.com.au is designed for simplicity and speed. Upload invoices, add payees, and make payments – whether individually or in batches – in just a few clicks. You can also integrate with Xero for seamless reconciliation.

Redeeming your PayRewards Points is just as easy. Our user-friendly rewards dashboard lets you effortlessly redeem points your way, including transferring to top airline partners like Qantas Business Rewards and more.

Is the platform secure?

Absolutely. At pay.com.au, security is our paramount concern. Our dedicated Security team works around the clock to provide you with a secure platform that instils confidence in every payment and transfer you make. Your safety and the protection of your financial data are our top priorities.  

We have implemented a comprehensive set of measures to provide the utmost protection and security for your sensitive card, payment, and banking information.

How long do payments take to process?

Payment processing times will vary depending on the payment method used: 

  • Credit Card – 1 to 2 business days (Authorise prior to 6pm AET)
  • Bank Account (PayTo Enabled) – Same day (Authorise prior to 2pm AET)
  • Bank Account – 2 to 3 business days (Authorise prior to 6pm AET)
  • PayID Payments – Same day (Authorised and funds transferred prior to 2pm AET)

To ensure your bills are paid on time, we recommend that you make payments at least 3 business days (by 6pm AEST) before the payment due date. 

Credit card and Non-PayTo enabled bank account processing times can be expected if you authorise the payment prior to 6pm AET.

For PayTo enabled bank accounts, same day processing can be expected if you authorise the payment prior to 2pm AET.

For PayID payments, payments must be created and funds transferred to your PayID prior to 2pm AET in order to be processed that day.

Payments that are made outside of our business hours (after 2pm AET for PayTo/PayID accounts, and 6pm AEST for other types on weekdays and on weekends) will be processed the next business day.

Once a payment is remitted to the payee, a remittance advice will be automatically emailed to you and your payee (if you have provided an email for the payee). You can also check the status of a payment via Payments History. Learn more about processing times

Can I make international payments?

While you can’t directly pay international payees through pay.com.au, you can still earn rewards on international payments. Here’s how:

Using pay.com.au’s international payment partners like Airwallex and OFX. Simply fund your accounts with these providers through pay.com.au and watch those rewards roll in! 

To put it simply, you could use your credit card, or bank transfer to pay your funding source, whether is be AirWallex, OFX, or other payment processors. Once in your chosen account, you can make the payment as such to international suppliers.  

Do suppliers need to have a pay.com.au account?

No. You can pay any approved payee (noting the exceptions to prohibited industries and payment types). 

How do I maximise the benefits of points and cashflow?

You have various opportunities to accumulate a substantial number of points while covering your business expenses. Plus, our users can earn full rewards points when making payments to the ATO. 

Another savvy move is taking full advantage of your credit card’s repayment period, granting you up to 55 days of interest-free funds to support your business’s cash flow.

Do I need to subscribe to the pay.com.au platform and service?

No subscription is necessary. You have the option to use our free account, which provides full access to our platform. However, if you opt for one of our subscription plans, you’ll unlock substantial discounts and gain access to additional services that can help you save both time and money.

Am I required to pay FBT on the reward points I earn?

Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) obligations can vary depending on your business structure, how rewards are used, and applicable tax laws. pay.com.au does not provide tax advice. We strongly recommend consulting a qualified tax professional or accountant to understand whether FBT applies to your specific situation and how to manage any associated tax obligations.

Are the fees I pay to pay.com.au tax deductible?

In many cases, the fees you pay to Pay.com.au for transaction processing may be tax-deductible as a business expense. However, tax treatments can vary based on your individual circumstances and local regulations. Pay.com.au does not provide tax advice, so we recommend consulting your accountant or tax adviser to confirm how the fees apply to your specific tax situation.

Is there a mobile app available for pay.com.au?

Not yet – but the platform works smoothly on mobile browsers. You can log in and make payments from your phone or tablet anytime.

Is there a minimum payment amount?

To make a payment, the amount has to be above $1  

What is the transaction limit for pay.com.au payments? 

There is no transaction limit when using pay.com.au  

What happens if I make an incorrect payment?

At pay.com.au, we understand that circumstances can change, and you may need to cancel a payment. See our help centre article to help you navigate the process.

Can I schedule recurring payments with pay.com.au?

Yes you can. To make a recurring payment, you will need to use a valid Visa, Mastercard or American Express card. Bank transfers are currently not unsupported for recurring payments. 

Do you offer any sign-up offers or promotions for using pay.com.au?

We often have great offers and promotions for new and existing customers. Make sure you keep an eye out in your inbox for the latest offers.  

Do I have to pay all my business expenses through pay.com.au?

No, you can choose what suppliers or payments you wish to make.  

 

Can I link multiple bank accounts or credit cards to my pay.com.au account?

Yes – you can add, delete and manage all of your payment methods through the platform.  

What do I do if I forget my login credentials?

You can easily reset your password on the login page 

Is there a referral program for pay.com.au?

Absolutely! Earn 20,000 PayRewards for each person you successfully refer through our referral program. Uncapped!

  1. Share your personal referral code, located in your account dashboard, with a business on pay.com.au.
  2. Once your referral completes transactions totalling $10,000 within their initial month,

Both you and your referral will receive 20,000 PayRewards Points. Terms and conditions are applicable. Refer to this link for more details

Is pay.com.au available for international users?

Not currently. If you have the authority to act on behalf of a business with a valid ABN (Australian Business Number), you’re eligible to open an account with us. 

Do you provide transaction statements for tax purposes?

Yes we do 

Can I link my pay.com.au account to budgeting or financial management software?

We integrate with Xero to allow you to sync payments and transaction history.

What is the process for closing my pay.com.au account?

Keeping in mind that pay.com.au is a free-to-use platform, if you would still like to withdraw from the platform, we can deactivate your account. 
 
If you would like us to deactivate your account, please send a request to support@pay.com.au. 

Can I use Pay.com.au to process payroll and earn rewards?

Yes – pay.com.au supports payroll payments, and you can earn full credit card points plus PayRewards Points on every eligible pay run. You can use your Visa or Mastercard credit card to make your  payroll payments. However, processing times apply.

Thanks to PayID, staff can be paid on the same day when processed before 2pm AEST.

What is PayRewards?

 PayRewards is a flexible rewards program that lets you earn even more points on all your business expenses. By signing up to pay.com.au, you automatically gain exclusive access to PayRewards, so you can accelerate your points earning. 

Convert your PayRewards Points into airline miles for discounted flight bookings and upgrades. Redeem your points for a wide range of valuable rewards, from luxury items to family vacations. You can also use your points for exclusive travel and concierge services through PayTravel and PayConcierge.

How do I earn PayRewards points?

When making a payment, you have the flexibility to select your preferred rate for earning PayRewards Points. By choosing this option and adding a small percentage to your transaction, you’ll kickstart the accumulation of PayRewards Points.

You can access PayRewards by earning PayRewards Points. When you are making a payment at the time of transaction you can select a tier of PayRewards – Pay a small percentage on top of your transaction and earn PayRewards Points.

This can be done on top of the rewards points you are earning on your credit card, or finally earn rewards points on bank transactions. 

 

How many PayRewards Points can I earn

The earning of PayRewards Points is uncapped!

Your PayRewards Points earned will be dependant on several factors such as your transaction size and the PayRewards tier you selected on the transaction.

What can I redeem PayRewards points for?

PayRewards Points can be redeemed for a wide range of valuable rewards – giving you maximum flexibility and high-end options to suit you. You can:

  • ✈️ Transfer points to leading airline partners like Qantas, Singapore Airlines, and Qatar Airways to book flights, including business class, for less.

  • 🏨 Transfer to hotel partners like Marriott Bonvoy, Accor Live Limitless, and IHG One Rewards for luxury accommodation.

  • 🎁 Redeem for digital gift cards, including Visa, JB Hi-Fi, Coles, Apple, and more.

  • 🧾 Use points to pay off invoices or bills – just upload your invoice and we’ll use your points to pay your supplier directly.

Yes, you can. This strategy is something called double stacking.

You can choose to earn 1 PayRewards Point for every $1 you process through pay.com.au with a 1.0% ex GST processing fee.

You can choose to earn 2 PayRewards Points for every $1 you process through pay.com.au with a 1.8% ex GST  processing fee. 

What is the fee to earn PayRewards?

You can earn 1 PayRewards Point for every $1 you process through pay.com.au with a 1.0% ex GST processing fee.

You can earn 2 PayRewards Points for every $1 you process through pay.com.au with a 1.8% ex GST  processing fee. 

How long does it take to receive my PayRewards Points?

PayRewards Points are typically credited to your account instantly after your payment is processed. If you notice any delay, please contact our support team for assistance.

Booking times vary depending on your request, but our team aims to respond quickly and manage your travel efficiently. We recommend submitting your redemption request well in advance of your planned travel dates to ensure availability.
